When mom Helen emailed me with the project, I was excited about the small space challenge for this studio apartment home. Most of my projects in the past have been more traditional and youthful. This client wanted a contemporary, clutter-free, mature feel for the room, yet it should have a warm, intimate, and playful vibe.
The mission here was to take an all white playroom and spice it up while maintaining flexibility to change the room’s design and layout as the kids – and they’re toys – grow up.
As an interior designer for kids, I get to design a lot of nurseries and kids rooms, but designing for my own children was a wonderful challenge with a huge reward! We wanted to take the room from soothing nursery to wild child toddler. With the help of the pink and gold wall – with pink and gold doors – I think we managed to achieve just that!
We wanted a nursery that we all would all love. We wanted a calm, relaxing and fun place that reflected our style and personalities.
This is a nursery we created for our daughter that we recently adopted. I wanted things that I love in this room: lavender, things that reminded me of France, children’s books, things that are cozy and snuggly, and most of all pictures of our baby girl, us and her birth parents who gave us the most amazing gift in the world!
Our mission with this nursery was to create a fun, functional space that was true to our personalities. A lot of time and thought went into each and every detail. We had DIY projects, we re-purposed old furniture and shopped for unique items to use as accessories. We placed an emphasis on developing a place that will inspire Milo to be the creative, fun-loving child we hope him to be and we did it!
Liam’s room is a cool modern design with a car and sign theme! With a mix of elements from Paul and myself to make it an enjoyable space for us adults as well as something Liam can grow into. We hope to be able to incorporate some more personalized elements once Liam arrives!
Our clients were looking for a bright nursery with vintage touches for their sweet baby girl.
A few years ago, my friend Minnie Driver asked me to please help her get ready for her son Henry’s arrival… I was happy to play “auntie.”
With babe #4 on the way, I needed to pair up two of my daughters! I wanted something fun, cheery, bright, and inviting.
I wanted to create a warm and inviting room for Katelyn that would fit each stage of her growing up, from infant to child. It brings me such joy spending time in here with my baby girl!
Kenton became a big brother when he was 16.5 months. So, instead of getting a “big boy” room – he got a new nursery! We went with a cycling theme as that is my husband’s favorite hobby.
Designed Jack’s nursery to be bright, modern, and fun! A room that is visually stimulating and warm.
This room was designed by Rylie’s Mom, Courtney and created around her eclectic modern style, her love for owls and a few sentimental gifts she received at her shower including an owl painting from a family member.
The tree is hand painted. I also hand painted 3-dimensional flowers to match the color scheme. The flowers, rhinestones and glitter paint added an extra sparkle and feminine touch to the tree. The owls are bejeweled with Swarovski crystals. The beautiful damask bedding is from Carousel Designs. The modern furniture and beautiful rug is from Pottery Barn.

I love all things vintage, antique and old so this was my theme to work with and as a collector of fun, quirky pretty things it didn’t take me long to gather the starting points of my daughters room from around my house. Her room is a beautiful place to spend time, its calm, warm and inviting.
We wanted to wait to find out the genders of our twins so a gender neutral nursery was a must.
An eclectic nursery with DIY details! Wanted a fun nursery for my baby girl that allowed for a broad array of bright colors and plenty to keep her interest…without breaking the bank!
Teresa’s nursery is whimsical and sweet without being too girly. I tried to use different textures and patterns, delicate images and references. We were on a limited budget, but it’s incredible how much you can do! The painting was done by my mother-in-law, the dresser refinished by my husband, and lots of DIY projects. Each project made us so proud! It took time, energy and love to make this dream nursery for baby Teresa.
