Description
This mommy was insistent on having a nursery that was clean and simple. I suggested Gray with pops of pink and she was sold once she saw the Chevron Bedding on my Inspiration board. What fun it was to do the room installation without her there and how special it was to surprise her once it was all completed! Love this simple, modern room.
Design Inspiration
I saw the bedding first and then found these beautiful silk butterflies at a local craft store. I knew I wanted to incorporate a butterfly theme and found the large, white tree decal shortly after. I later decided to attach the butterflies to the tree and add silver butterflies to surround the mirror.
Decorating Style
I like to decorate chic, non-cluttered rooms that include some personalization for each baby and child that will soon be sleeping in it for years to come. It's important for me to stick to the tastes and wants of the client while including pops of Luca's Lullaby in there as well! ;-)
Project Details
New Arrivals had this fabulous chevron bedding and the crib was purchased from Pottery Barn Kids. The white and gray piped glider and ottoman are from Little Castle Inc. and all other items were from specialty stores in the area.
DIY - I asked the client if she had any dresses or clothes from her childhood and she was able to find a tiny, crocheted pink dress that she wore when she was a newborn. Her mother made this and it was a special way t0 make it part of Tegan's life as well. We framed it and put it on a shelf above the glider.
Favorite Items
I LOVE the glider and Bedding in this room. It's what added the modern elements that she requested from this projects inception.
Advice
Keep it simple and stick with a 3-4 color palette for a sleek and clean, modern look. First select a paint color and work around important elements like the bedding.
