Caroline’s Soft Blue Nursery

Description

This nursery is pretty and girly without being too pink. It has both elegant and vintage elements. It's traditional but not stuffy.

Design Inspiration

I knew I didn't want the room to be pink so I looked for bedding with lots of soft, muted colors I could pull from. Once I found the bedding, I decided to complement the soft blue tones with the wall color. I wanted a look that was vintage-like but that would go with the rest of our traditional decor.

Decorating Style

My style is pretty traditional, with a few vintage-y pieces thrown in.

Project Details

The crib bedding is the Lily crib bedding from Pottery Barn Kids. The furniture is Stanley by Young America. The glider is custom from Little Castle. The drapes are from Calico Corners. The prints and the monogram are from Etsy shops. You can see more details on my blog at www.meaganmusing.com.

Favorite Items

The drapes are my favorite part. I love what the plaid added to the room and I love that I'll be able to use them for years. They'll coordinate with lots of different bedding options.

Advice

Find one piece you love an build around it. For me, it was the bedding. It can be a paint color or a rug. But it's great to have something you love to start.

I simply love the pastel colors you used. And oh, those frames above the crib are charming. Great job!
