Amber Nicole Design

Amber Nicole Design is a boutique interior design studio based out of Calgary, AB Canada.
Amber is the proud mother of two daughters and a loving wife to her very supportive husband Adam. After their first child was born, Amber was inspired to create a space that provided her a calm getaway in the middle of the night. So, she did, and the initial design reinforced what had always been a deep passion – children’s interiors.
Since that fateful first project Amber has designed countless spaces for children, and her work has inspired children of all ages to learn, grow, rest, play and create. Her innate talent for visualizing and implementing the picture-perfect creative solutions for any space is simply unparalleled. Amber takes a professional, but delicate approach to combining practical with beautiful and youthful with fun – moments linked together seamlessly by imagination.

Shark Attack Shared Boys Room

The perfect room for two boys looking to get creative and have fun escaping sharks and using their imaginations. I created this room with a nautical surf vibe for two sweet boys. I wanted to make it exciting but also be a place that they can grow into for many years to come. The existing furniture was complimented with a custom wall mural, a grow with me modern desk, shark bedding and a gallery wall. I absolutely love this one and so do my sweet clients!

Floral Garden Party Girls Room

This is by far one of my favourite rooms. The room itself is quite small, so I wanted to add some interest to the room all while keeping it open and airy. I added two walls of this glorious garden floral wallpaper. Kept the remaining items very simple with a Jenny Lind bed and modern side table. The bookcase was a shorter profile so it wouldn’t take up additional rooms space. Character elements were added with wicker storage baskets and a feathered mirror (no longer available). Bedding was kept light with a blush pink comforter and a canopy overhead.

Shared Sophistication Playroom

I wanted a play space for my own children that represented and inspired themselves. We previously had limited toy storage, most of which was dark wood that made our basement playroom even darker.  I opened up the space with a tree mural that was bright and inviting.  I added acrylic bookshelves to it to change out seasonal books and to entice reading. I had a custom wall unit created to display some of our favourite toys and decor. It had lots of closed storage to hold all of our books, puzzles and games and drawers and cupboards for toys. Investing in a piece like this was important to me as I know it will transition well past our playroom years and function for our family. A small kitchen and table were added along with some additional storage bins for stuffed animals and a slide!

Dark Floral Girls Bedroom

This project was for a 5 year old girl.  I chose this dark moody wallpaper as a statement piece for her room.  Both my client and I wanted to create a room that would grow with her into her teen years.  I chose a tufted bed and traditional furniture for her.  The bedding is simple yet elegant with pops of blush pink.  Ballerina sheets, a canopy and a crystal lamp add small touches that only a princess deserves.
