Description
Here is the nursery my husband and I created for our son Wesley who is now almost one year old! We painstakingly created almost every detail in his modern colorful room. I should mention that his room is tiny! You can see more details on my blog: http://whatjeffdid.blogspot.com/2012/06/wesleys-nursery.html
Design Inspiration
I was inspired first off by my chosen color pallet: kelly green, gray, black and white, and I knew that I wanted a clean modern look that could transition easily into a little boy's room.
Decorating Style
clean, modern, fresh.
Project Details
All of the items in his room were handmade, handed down, or found off craigslist or thrift stores. With exception the rug is from Ikea, and was probably the most expensive item in his room. The crib was a craigslist find for only $30 (with the mattress!). The dresser/changing table was a thrift store find that we transformed. The glider was a hand me down that I recovered. The chevron fabric in the room was from fabric.com
Favorite Items
This is a tough one. I think the dresser/changing table is my favorite item because it is so unique.
Advice
Don't be afraid to create something yourself that you cant afford to buy. Your child's nursery will be that much more meaningful with your own handmade items.
