Strawberry Shortcake Party

Description

A 4th birthday party based on a strawberry theme.

Design Inspiration

I wanted the party to be less about the character, and more about strawberries, getting crafty with the colors and the sweet treats at the character's cafe.

Decorating Style

Cottage/Vintage-mix

Project Details

Invitations were designed to represent 'strawberry shortcake' desserts and were paper-pieced using die cuts, embossing folders and paper punches. Ribbon topiaries were made following a tutorial here I made candy kabobs and found pink strawberry shaped marshmallows at local supermarket. Strawberry Crush soda was re-labeled using cardboard photo of character from paper blowouts found at party store. Yummy strawberry shaped cookies from Lori's place Handmade tags gave it the 'cafe' touch.  Kids got to fill up bags at end of party with all the treats.

Favorite Items

I really liked the dollar store find of strawberry scented bubbles in strawberry shaped bottles. I also liked making the strawberry shaped lollipop boxes some of which were embossed using Cuttlebug's swiss dot folder.

Advice

use character/branded elements sparingly; mix and match is more fun.
