I had to keep in mind that we would be moving in less than a year. So, I had to keep the walls neutral and the budget low. But, I still wanted to enjoy the space.
I have an affinity towards butterflies!
Eclectic, whimsical, yet contemporary.
The crib is the olivia crib from walmart. The glider is a dutailier that I tried out at buy buy baby and bought for much cheaper with a quick search online. The dresser, bookcase, and rug are from ikea. The wall decal I found on etsy. The mobile, curtains and crib skirt are DYI. For the mobile I found a branch outside and simply wrapped around the butterflies which had already come in a string. Couldn't have been easier! The curtains I bought on clearance and then found a fabric I liked and attached the fabric with no sew tape. I made the bed skirt with the same fabric and no sew tape.
Both Maya and I love watching the butterflies on the mobile flutter when the fan is on.
Look through many pictures to decide what kind of look you are going for, but then create something of your own that is unique. Be sure to invest in a comfy place to sit and enjoy your baby and the nursery. I am very glad we got the glider even though I thought they were really unattractive!
