I wanted to do something suitable for a little boy without being too “babyish”. I thought a vintage railroad theme would be PERFECT because it can transition well into a toddler room. Besides, what little boy doesn’t love trains?!?
Sebastian’s big boy room is bright and fun, much like the little man himself. We live in a loft, and his bedroom gets almost no natural light, so every design decision centered around creating a bright and happy space for him to play and sleep. He loves trains, trucks and cars, so there is a subtle transportation theme going on with out it screaming, “LOOK AT ALL THE TRUCKS!”

I have 3 daughters so when I heard my oldest daughter was having a boy, I couldn’t help but start planning this baby shower! Online tools & resources are the best when it comes to planning and coming up with ideas!

We decided to transition our son from his crib to a full-size bed when he was 20 months old since he is an active sleeper and needed the additional space to be comfortable. This necessitated a move to a larger room, so we converted our guest bedroom into his big boy room.
I wanted to make the room a total play haven for the kids and tried to make use of what little space we had to work with. We only have the kids once a month so their closet is also our camping gear storage area.
