Chevron Candyland Inspired Birthday Party

As a mother to three sons, I was ecstatic when my sister-in-law asked me to help with my niece’s Candyland inspired birthday party. As the owner of a little invitation and announcement card shop on Etsy, Tints and Prints by Tierney, I am honored when family and friends ask for my help. I created an entire DIY Party Package of printables for this adorable Candyland theme party. And pairing Candyland with bright chevrons updated the classic childhood game with a modern design obsession of mine…chevrons! And if you know me well, I can’t get enough of chevrons, whether in my own home or in my card designs.

Pearcy’s Colorful Nursery

We have tried for years to have a child and when our dream finally came true, we wanted to create a super fun and colorful nursery.   I didn’t want a room that was a sea of pastel colors.  I wanted a room that would grow with her.  I also wanted to incorporate lots of different fabrics and as much color as possible.  My ultimate goal was to try to create a room that maybe some day she would be happy to call it her own.
We did not tell anyone her name until she got here.  We all called her Sparkle during the pregnancy.

Colorful & Patterned Nursery

I wanted Ezekiel’s nursery to be colorful and fun without any real theme.  I always loved patterns, such as stripes and chevron, so I started there.  In order for the room to be colorful, but not too overwhelming, we painted the walls grey and had the carpets and crib grey as well.  Then we added touches of our favorite colors – green, teal, orange, and yellow – in fun patterns.

Woodland Nursery for Baby Girl

My husband and I share a passion for climbing and being outdoors, and we knew from the beginning that we wanted to incorporate those two things into the nursery. I began planning for the theme before we knew the gender of the baby, so I wanted most of the decorations to remain gender neutral but bringing in feminine/masculine colors once we found out. We were elated to find out that we were having a girl!
The room is quite small, only 10×10, but I’m glad we were able to get all the essential furniture in there.

Modern Vintage Nursery

I started planning our daughter Ali’s nursery probably from the day I found out I was pregnant.  I started a girl vision board and a boy vision board.  Obce I found out I was having a girl I deleted the boy nursery vision board and went full force with planning her nursery.  I had an extreme obsession with gray, pink and orange.  Any free time I had I would wander the aisles at Target, Home Goods, Marshall’s and was constantly on the internet surfing websites.

Mod Monkey 1st Birthday

While looking at Project Nursery for nursery ideas, I saw the parties that people were also posting. So, naturally, when my little guy was going to turn 1, I consulted this site again, looking for ideas. For some reason, monkeys have been a theme with him, so I chose to go that route. I liked the “Mod Monkey” theme but instead of buying that party themed decor, I designed everything myself using digital software.
