June is the month of Choi Jeong (36SSG).

The Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) said on the 10th, "SSG Choi Jung was selected as the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League Monthly MVP."

Choi Jeong received a total of 55.62 votes with 21 out of 29 votes (72.4%) and 155,287 out of 400,002 fan votes (38.8%) and was honored to be selected as the monthly MVP for the first time in four years since June 2019. Hanwha Noh Si-hwan, who received 53,943 votes in the press team vote and 53,943 votes in the fan vote, came in second with a total score of 15.35 points. Choi Jong-woon beat his competitors by a wide margin and won the prize leisurely.

His team SSG topped the team's home run list with 34 home runs a month in June. Choi Jeong's contribution was the biggest. Having hit 11 home runs last month alone, he is tied for the lead with Noh Si-hwan with 19 home runs this season as of the 10th. It is simply a passionate performance.

Choi Jeong, who won the home run category in June, recorded home runs in three consecutive games from the Jamsil Doosan Bears match on the 22nd to the Munhak Samsung Lions match on the 24th. He also hit consecutive at-bats home runs on the 1st and 23rd, raising his batting average index.

Thanks to his explosive home run, Choi also topped both categories with 27 RBIs and a .787 slugging percentage. He ranked second in scoring (23 points) and fourth in on-base percentage (0.431), as well as 1.218 OPS (on-base percentage + slugging percentage).

If Choi Jung, who has a personal record of 448 home runs, continues to maintain his current pace, it is worth aiming to surpass Lee Seung-yeop (former Samsung, 467 home runs) within this year to become the No. 1 KBO League home run.

Choi Jeong, who was selected as the MVP in June, will be given 2 million won in prize money, and 2 million won in donations will be delivered to Pyeongchon Middle School, Choi Jeong's middle school.
