Bright and Fun Shared Room
With babe #4 on the way, I needed to pair up two of my daughters! I wanted something fun, cheery, bright, and inviting.

Charlene and Chris began fixing up the nursery before their first son Matteo was born. They painted the walls a light shade of gray, refinished the original hardwood floors, and purchased the basic furniture as well as a glider and ottoman. They also brought in their old full-sized bed for Grandma who stays occasionally to help with the baby. But after their baby was born, the room remained half finished with no theme, bare walls, and baby stuff piled in the corners and on top of furniture. Eight months later I was brought on to reorganize and bring much-needed style to the room they first envisioned for their nursery.
The idea was to create a bright Moroccan inspired nursery that played off the elephant accents. Bold patterns in the fabric combine with vintage funishings for a unique look.
We’re not the most creative folks, but thanks to the wonders of stickers, we managed to make it look pretty pro (in our eyes anyway). The Jungle theme was not really planned, we started with the stencil, then the drape, and it just followed after that.
I fancy myself a handyman, so I did most of the work myself. I put down a floating hardwood floor, installed crown molding, gutted and installed shelving in the closet, and painted of course. The tree and birds on the wall is stenciling.
I based this room off of the elephant crib set I picked out at Target. I created an elephant stencil and painted the brown and green elephants on a white border between brown and green paint colors. The room originally had carpet and my husband and I put down a SwiftLock wood laminate floor. We added a rug from Lowes to complete. I also did some drawings of animals to put on his walls.
From ghost chair to damask wall decals, a little glam goes a long way. Soft shades of white and yellow accented with some of the most current design trends makes for an ultra stylish nursery. Project Nursery loves nothing more than a little glamour in any girls room!
