Description
This a colorful and cheerful bird themed nursery for my baby girl with a wall of built in bookshelves and window seat. I wanted this to be a room she could grow into and not make it so 'babyish'.
Design Inspiration
I was drawn to bird themed nurseries. Once I found the nursery bedding, I used that color scheme to draw from to inspire the decor.
Decorating Style
I am a more of a traditional decorator with use of color.
Project Details
I got the crib, dresser, and changing table at Target. The bedding is Love Birds from http://www.babybedding.com I helped the carpenter come up with the plan for the built in bookshelves. I found a lot of bookshelf decor around my house, and even painted some to match the nursery. You can find more about her nursery on my blog http://alisonmayes.blogspot.com/search/label/Nursery
Crib, dresser, changing Table, Rug Target
Bedding: Love Birds from http://babybedding.com
Lamp: Babies R Us
Birdhouses: Michaels then painted them
Bird Cages: Save on Crafts; the one on the dresser has Christmas lights in it for a night light; the one on the book shelf has fabric birds I made.
Favorite Items
I love the built in shelves, the toy box window seat, and crib bedding.
Advice
I searched on the internet to get inspiration for her nursery. I just found what I loved and worked hard to get what I wanted.

This nursery looks so sweet and pretty. I love the pinks and the floral prints and the birdhouses on the wall. I also like that shelf that serves home to many interesting stuff, like that birdcage and another birdhouse.
darling! I love the color combinations! I love that Dena Designs fabric too, great job putting it all together.
