Amelia’s Bird Nursery

This a colorful and cheerful bird themed nursery for my baby girl with a wall of built in bookshelves and window seat. I wanted this to be a room she could grow into and not make it so 'babyish'.

Design Inspiration

I was drawn to bird themed nurseries. Once I found the nursery bedding, I used that color scheme to draw from to inspire the decor.

Decorating Style

I am a more of a traditional decorator with use of color.

Project Details

I got the crib, dresser, and changing table at Target. The bedding is Love Birds from  I helped the carpenter come up with the plan for the built in bookshelves. I found a lot of bookshelf decor around my house, and even painted some to match the nursery. You can find more about her nursery on my blog

Crib, dresser, changing Table, Rug Target

Bedding: Love Birds from

Lamp: Babies R Us

Birdhouses: Michaels then painted them

Bird Cages: Save on Crafts; the one on the dresser has Christmas lights in it for a night light; the one on the book shelf has fabric birds I made.

Favorite Items

I love the built in shelves, the toy box window seat, and crib bedding.

I searched on the internet to get inspiration for her nursery. I just found what I loved and worked hard to get what I wanted.

This nursery looks so sweet and pretty. I love the pinks and the floral prints and the birdhouses on the wall. I also like that shelf that serves home to many interesting stuff, like that birdcage and another birdhouse.
