For these designs I wanted a vintage, whimsical Woodland take on this classic fairytale! My children LOVE the story and I think it makes for a great party theme with cute ladybugs, flower, toadstools and off course Little Red Riding Hood designs for a fun Birthday Party…..where even Mr wolf is a cutie pie! :) Read more: http://birdcrafts.blogspot.com/2011/02/red-riding-hood-inspired-woodland-party.html#ixzz1Exz9s4JE

I wanted to do a 1st birthday party without getting too stuck in a theme. Everyone comments on how Happy my son is all the time so I decided to do a Mr. Happy character theme by Roger Hargreaves. It turned out perfectly! My son even had a Mr. Happy onesie to wear!
A Dr. Seuss inspired theme birthday, it’s a toss up who had more fun wsith this party – the momma creating it or the birthday boy himself!

Jake’s 1st birthday party was so much fun to plan and style. Lil’ Buckaroo jumped out at us as the perfect theme because that was his nickname we gave him in response to the way he “bucks” when he gets frustrated. Once I had the theme, I instantly knew I would be working with the red bandana, denim and cow prints to use as my pattern and color palettes. From there, I created the designs using those colors and a star I designed to resemble an old western sheriff badge. This party started out as just a simple idea and I am so thrilled with how it came out. It was the perfect 1st birthday party for my son!

A bee-utiful theme for a summer party! Complete with cute bumble bees, honeycombs and honey pots, a dash of bright sunflowers and a lot of sunshine!
A Rockin’ 1st birthday for my little Rockstar! The theme was inspired by my father and brother who are both musicians, the invitations were printed on a high gloss paper to resemble a flyer-type ticket. VIP passes were made for each little Rockstar along with a custom rocker placemat. A homemade amplifer was made out of a tool box, my husband had me take out the $400 drills before heading to the party! Assortments of rocking candies were on display such as Rock Candy, Pop Rocks & Drumstick Lollipops. Oriental Trade had a great selection of inflatable guitars, perfect for the summertime and 80’s style shades for all to enjoy! I accented the party with a checkered wrapping paper around the tables and glass jars along with ‘You Rock’ pics and photos from each month 0-12 for the birthday boy. Custom cupcake toppers were scattered around the tables and the guitar cake made by Patty’s Cake added the perfect touch! The ‘Rockstar’ sign was a Target find on clearance. The birthday boy rocked out to a jam session of ‘Happy Birthday to You’ from his papa and uncle. This was a great party for the modern-rocker mommy and baby on a budget!
