Michaela’s Pretty Peach Nursery

This nursery was put together in 2 days.  My sister-in-law had a baby girl (we didn’t know the gender before birth)!  I soon as I left the hospital to meet my new niece for the first time I went shopping.  Furniture was already purchased but everything else was new.  Bedding from Babies R US, all other decor from Home Goods, Target, Joann Fabric and Michaels.  Some things were personalized such as the lamp and M initial.  I was able to design this nursery on a very low budget.  Love the way it came.  Honored that I was able to create it for my new niece.  The room was ready when Mom and baby returned home.

Georgia’s Small World Nursery

I pinned some Small World canvases someone had painted for their daughter’s nursery a little over a year ago when I was looking at ideas for a Disney style clothing contest. It certainly sparked the idea and I immediately fell in love with that theme for a nursery since I used to sing the song to my oldest daughter as a lullaby, and it was my most favorite ride growing up.
My husband patiently measured, and drew out all the geometric parts around the bottom of the nursery. It took us almost 2 weeks just to completely draw and paint that portion. Most of the art, canvas, & hot air balloons was hand drawn, cut, or painted by myself with the exception of a canvas my oldest daughter painted and a 3D clock face that was so lovingly done by my brother and his wife.
We have so many cherished Disney memories in there as well! Her first set of Mickey ears we picked up for her gender reveal, a snow globe family members picked out for her in honor of the birth announcement, and some plush Small World Animals a Disney friend gifted us. There are a few pages out of a Small World book I used to read to my 1st daughter that I framed. Also, my vintage Small World jewelry box I picked out in the early 90’s box sits on a shelf next to some pretties a cast member friend gifted to me on my 30th birthday while at the parks. Lastly, if you search hard enough, you will find a total of 4 hidden Mickeys in her room as well.

Hazel’s Chic Lavender + Gold Nursery

I always feel like I struggle with home decorating, but since Hazel’s room prior to being her nursery, was just being used as a room for extra storage, I really felt like I had a true blank slate to start with.
I knew I didn’t want it to be over the top girly (i.e. ruffles + pink), but I definitely wanted it to be feminine and delicate that included some special pieces. I also wanted to be conscious when purchasing larger items (curtains, furniture, and rug) and make sure they would be able to either grow with her, or be used elsewhere in our home.
I started by picking out the larger items that I really loved, like the curtains and the rug (Wayfair). I couldn’t find a dresser that I LOVED that wasn’t super expensive, so we went with one from IKEA and I just replaced the boring black knobs, with the modern gold ones from Target.
I love a good gallery wall, and wanted to make it fun, yet custom to Hazel. I spent TONS of time scouring Instagram and Etsy for small shops that made unique prints/art. It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I love the custom “H” done in watercolor by Wilder Florals. I also am pretty obsessed with the custom hoop art by Blue Without You Kids. Before we knew we were expecting a girl, my husband would refer to baby as “Turtle” so that is where the gold foil turtle print comes in, and meant something special to us.

Baby Girl’s Coral & Gold Nursery

For our second child (a girl!), we wanted to update the nursery but needed to do something quick and simple–our time was limited because we were chasing around our toddler boy. We chose a white, coral, and gold palette for a girly feel without going “too pink.” The gold star wall stickers were easy to apply and the rest of the room came together easily, thanks to a couple of cans of gold and coral spray paint!
