1 Room…2 Dino Mite Brothers

Description

Big brother Aidan was delighted to share his room with new baby brother Nolan.  We designed one room that will create a bond and closeness for many years to come.

Design Inspiration

With the help of Megan Tosti from Baby Lux Interiors, www.babyluxinteriors.com we designed the room using a neutral color scheme of browns and creams, but also incorporate some different hues of green.  The vintage theme was perfect for both ages along with a hint of "dino", Aidan's favorite.  Using existing pieces of furniture while also adding a vintage touch this formed a room that will not only be suitable for the boys now, but for many years to come.

Decorating Style

Mostly vintage with a warm and inviting touch.

Project Details

Most of the vintage items came from Restoration Hardware Baby. http://www.rhbabyandchild.com The art work was framed by New Era Art, but the inspiration came from Baby Lux Interior's after seeing my baby shower invitation.  A custom "Little Golden Book" named The Three Little Bears which Nolan completes as the 3rd boy.  This was designed by Naglee Paper Projects. https://www.facebook.com/NagleePaperProjects For the custom built-in closet we used the Martha Stewart closets from Home Depot.  Very affordable and customizable to fit any space and style. http://www.marthastewartclosets.com/

Favorite Items

It's really hard to pick one item because I love everything.  My favorite item is the rocking chair from Restoration Hardware Baby.  It took 10 weeks to receive, but it's one-of-a-kind and worth the wait!  It's soft and comfortable and a place to just slip away to bond with my baby boy.  http://www.rhbabyandchild.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=rhbc_prod256001&categoryId=search

Advice

Always consider less is more.  You can find vintage pieces pretty much anywhere these days.  Restoration Hardware can be on the higher priced side so consider looking at local vintage stores, Etsy or Pottery Barn.

There are lots of things that I love about this room! Where did you get the “handwritten” note from? Where it has the names on it? Great job :)

Awwww… your baby’s too cute! Love that pic of him on the seemingly humongous glider! Anyway, I love what you did with this joint room. You made it a simple and practical room, despite the rather limited floor space.

  17. How sweet! I love the pillow that your son is sitting next to! He’s such a cutie!
