I just finished a nursery for a dear friend of mine. She was having her first child and wanted to create a room that would not only work for her first baby but one that could also work for the next. Boy or girl, she wanted her nursery to be able to grow with her family. She chose creams and sage greens to achieve a soft baby feel while keeping the space gender neutral. I love the way this room turned out.
Using a soft celadon for the furniture ensures that either blue or pink accents can be added with success.
Accents of lime, turquoise and orange are a fun way to add color to this soft decor. Ikat prints and other interesting patterns add the one-of-a-kind element that every nursery needs. As an artist, the mom-to-be chose to display her own artwork above the crib. I love the idea of including a special something handmade from the heart.
Have you used green in your nursery? Or did you add your own artwork or handmade item to your baby’s room? Please share below.

I almost skipped the post because of ‘green’ – not my favorite color. Am I glad I didn’t; that’s a really beautiful nursery. Love the curtains (an old tradition with a new twist), the rug, the night lamp. All is so nicely put together!

The rug is really cute and I love the curtains, too. Is this a small space or you just didn’t post photos of the rest of the room?
