My latest design reveal was for a client who wanted a traditional “sweet” girl’s bedroom with some preppy flair. To create this classic preppy girl’s room, we started by selecting a statement piece of furniture. Since the bed was going to be the largest item in the room, this was our focal point. Nothing says traditional girl like a hand-painted poster bed. It is whimsical and playful and a perfect fit for a room like this with vaulted ceilings.
When I think preppy, I think of white pique, ribbon and seersucker, so we combined all of these elements into the bedding and, of course, had to add in a custom monogram and floral pillows for tradition’s sake.
Next we paired the bed with a dresser, bookcase and mirror with feminine curves.
Some of my favorite details in the room can be found on the window treatments—from the sweet bird finials on the drapes behind the bed to the ribbon detail on the relaxed roman shades.

So gorgeous and feminine! I love the mix of florals, tiny polka dots, plaids, and other subtle patterns.

What a sweet big girl room Andrika! I too love the window treatments. I'd love to look into ordering a custom monogrammed pillow for Gigi's room. I found a few on Etsy but do you have any recommendations?
