Soft Neutral Nursery

Description

We decided not to find out the gender of our baby and wanted a soft, dream-like nursery that would be soothing to both us and baby.  We chose to stick with a monochromatic color scheme and rely on interesting textures and shapes in the room.

Design Inspiration

The hedgehog lamp next to the gider - this was a surprise gift from my mother that I wasn't even sure I liked at first!  We decorated the entire nursery around this little guy.  I also wanted to use my baby bonnet and shoes from my Christening and these are framed in our wall collage.  Since we don't yet have photos of our little one, we used pictures of us as babies in the frames for the time being - which makes me even more excited to see what this baby is going to look like!

Decorating Style

Traditional, clean, bright

Project Details

Other figurines - hand painted by us - from Hobby Lobby and Home Goods

Mirror, tree, and frames in collage - Hobby Lobby and Home Goods, all found in different colors and hand painted to match the color scheme.  Baby shoes and hat were mine from 30 years ago!

Advice

I knew we wouldn't find everything we needed in the gold tones we wanted, so we spent quite a while finding the right objects without focusing on color.  There's always paint!

    Hello all!
The paint is Balboa Mist from Benjamin Moore. The dresser is Sorelle Verona, as are the hutch, crib, and night stand. They were purchased in December 2014, but may still be available!
