Nolan’s Nursery

Description

My son Nolan's nursery.

The striped wall is not wallpaper. I hand painted this wall as the feature wall in the nursery choosing a darker green matching with the lampshade & parts of the bedding. I painted this room at 6 months pregnant.

That may be no big deal to some as many women don't have a very large belly at this point but I did so it was quite a challenge for me.

I still have to finish painting the bathroom, but since he's too little to use that yet, I'm in no rush!

Design Inspiration

Trying to find a theme that I liked for a boy that wasn't based around sports and trying to make it as fun as possible.

Decorating Style

Creativity, color matching & coordinating & fun!

Project Details

The furniture is the  Young America "My Haven Collection"  finished in the colour "Seagrass" manufactured by Stanley Furniture which will convert to a double bed. I also have 2 nightstands for either side of the bed once converted.

The wooden wall accessories are by Twelve Timbers

The crib bedding is Papagayo Pattern by Lambs & Ivy and the stuffed animals on the crib are also from Lambs & Ivy

The paint is from Benjamin Moore

Blinds are by Hunter Douglas

The large glider chair is the Cottage Chair & a Half by Little Castle finished in pistachio billows piped with ivory billows material

Advice

This project took a lot of time & effort. It started with the bedding and then the furniture (which comes in many colours) and from there I just kept my eyes open for anything that I liked that I could incorporate into the room without making it look cluttered. Also shop around you never know what you'll find or where you'll find it!

Diane Mathias,

Thank you so much for your kind words :) I worked really hard to have this all come together and I'm excited to do it all over again next year for our next baby that we are planning to try for in the fall.

You did an amazing job with that striped wall! Hard to believe that you painted it yourself. I'm liking that kind of green you chose for your furniture. In effect, they are really soothing to look at.
