Vintage Inspired Nursery Tour

We absolutely love finding a new vintage inspired nursery to share with you all, and this gorgeous baby girl room certainly fits the bill. The tight floral pattern of the wallpaper, the mid-century modern lines of the crib, the dainty sconce, and of course, the actual vintage dresser make this nursery shine. Nothing feels stuffy or old, designer Jenna has curated a nursery with vintage charm and timeless beauty.

The unexpected color combination of the blue and green wallpaper and the dusty blush velvet drapes feels both vintage inspired and fresh. Jenna, of Jenna Maloney Home, designed this space for daughter Grace, and when she’s not busy as a mom of two, she’s helping others design spaces in their own homes with her virtual design company. Where did you pull ideas for your vintage inspired nursery design?
I wanted the space to be spunky and sweet with a vintage flair. Once I laid eyes on the wallpaper, I knew it would be the perfect backdrop to the room, but I really wanted to incorporate pink into the room, too. The muted blush velvet curtains added the perfect amount of softness to the bold pattern.

What part of the design process did you enjoy the most?
Allowing the nursery to evolve after she was born to reflect her personality was my favorite part. I started pretty simple, without a ton of decor items and slowly added them as she grew. We frequently call her Gracie Goose or “Goose” for short (hence the large goose photo).

What is your favorite part or detail in your nursery?
I love the sconce above her antique changing dresser. It helps fill the wall without taking away from the pretty print it lights up. It’s also proven to be useful during midnight diaper changes! Other than the physical, the room perfectly embodies our little girl’s personality and I love that!

What is one thing that you would tell other parents to consider when starting their own nursery design project?
Keep in mind it’s your space too! As new parents, you will spend a lot of time in your baby’s room, so you should love the design too! Grace’s room is girly but also has a bit of sophistication to satisfy my design preferences.
