Handmade Decor

Using handmade decor is a great way to add character to your home and make it feel uniquely yours. Decorating with your children’s own artwork helps to make their rooms reflect their bright and blooming personalities. I personally love it when a child’s room is a reflection of them. Layered over time as they grow. Some things stay, some things go—the journey of childhood.

The “randomness” of how art is displayed can be wonderful. There is no such thing as the right way or wrong way. Through the eyes of a child, we can learn to embrace the imperfections in life.

One of the best ways to share creative time with your children is to move everything craft-like outside. No worries about mess, and kids get to be kids. No rules. No boundaries.

I love this post, and I agree that having your child”s artwork on display adds so much fun and warmth to your home! Check out how I turned my 3 year old’s paintings into a custom bunting for her big girl room:

Thanks for the great new blogs to follow! I created a wall collage, and an art cable inspired by pottery barn for my kids playroom.

Love seeing all the children’s art….i think the best way is to put it in a photo frame that can be easily swapped out with their news creations! They looks so much prettier in a frame and seem like “real” art

I love things handmade. They are labors of love.

A home really has a different vibe when you fill it with handmade decors. Everything would look warm and full of love.

I think our kids’ artworks, no matter how imperfect and how messy they look, will always make perfect decorative elements for our home.

I agree, Marissa! I really love how my fridge looks with all my kids’ drawings, doodles, scribbles, and even little love notes all kept in place by colorful and fun magnets.
