Design Reveal: Sweet Vintage

shabby4

Nothing seems more girly and feminine then soft shades of pink and green. I’ve passed along the excitement for all things pink to my own daughter and I hope her eyes always twinkle when she sees a perfectly pink frosted cupcake or sparkly fairy costume. Ella and Halle’s mother Hana also likes things soft and pretty (with a dash of vintage) because she created a nursery filled with sweetness and light. Hana was creative with her finds and with a limited budget crafted many of the extras herself.

What was your inspiration for the room?
I wanted to have a soft and sweet space for my girls to sleep and play. I started with a simple color palette of pink and green and added a few color touches around the room!

What best describes your decorating style?
A little of this, a little of that, make it work together

Please with us choice of paint colors, furniture, art, DIY tips, etc.
Paint: Sherwin Williams Lime Granita
Window Treatments: Pottery Barn Kids
Pink Retro Kitchen: Kidcraft

Rug: Target
Vintage Planters: Ebay
Shabby Chic Garland: DIY project
Twinkle Twinkle sign:
Hobby Lobby
Paper Balls: Martha Stewart
at Walmart

What is your favorite item(s) in the room?
I LOVE the vintage planters! I bought them on ebay and loved how they look in the nursery!
I also love the baby quilt I made for my daughter using varoius designer fabrics in shades of pink, green, brown, and aqua.
The shabby chic garland is a simple yet beautiful project you can do yourself using strips of fabric, ribbon, and various trinkets. Tie in a few drapery clips to hold photos of your baby or other sweet mementos.

Is there anything else you would like PN readers to know?
Hope you get some inspiration for your own nursery!

I love this room. Sweet & Simple. Of course, I am a huge fan of Martha’s pompoms! I have thought about hanging my pink set in my studio after seeing them not only used for parties, but as permanent decor! Also love the vintage kitchen, I was on a mission last Christmas to find THAT kitchen for my daughter and ended up picking it up across town, from Craigs List, brand new in box! Lucky me (or lucky Kate!) I also love the vintage planters, great find!

I also love the fun, pink paper balls–the ring out a sixties call to me for some reason–very fun, clean and softly sophisticated.

Love this room! Marthas pom poms are the BEST!!! They really add a lot to the room. We have them above our Olivias crib too. I love seeing this kidcraft kitchen everywhere because we have one too :) This room is sweet. Just the right touch of everything. Also love the planters :) Another job well done to a creative mama :)

    Beautiful room and great inspiration!

Just wanted to share that those beautiful little dolls with the girls’ names on them are from one of my favorite Etsy sellers, Rene, of chickabiddybaby (http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=102386). I’ve ordered several dolls from her as gifts for new babies and they are always a big hit :)

    Hi Missy!

You can try POMLOVE on Etsy. Maybe they ship to the UK? http://www.pomlove.etsy.com
Send the seller a message to see if she would ship there.

If you can’t get them shipped there, Martha also has instructions on how to make them:

    Good luck!
