We love finding out what makes our favorite design mavens tick, and when we get a chance to pick their brains a bit, well it’s like Christmas has come early. That’s how we felt when Jennifer DeLonge was game to chat about her designs. Jennifer is, after all, the creative genius behind two collections for Franklin & Ben. It was such fun learning what inspired her to design these fresh and unique pieces, AND she gave us a little eye candy in the form of two gorgeous design boards centered around these two new collections. Meet Mason and Copley.
What are you most inspired by?
Objects that inspire me everyday always include vintage finds of textiles, furniture and jewelry. Looking to the past and finding ways to update and modernize my favorite patterns, shapes and functionality keeps me passionate about design. Traveling the world and photographing everything from over-scaled churches down to the details of a door handle allow me to catalog away inspiration. There is a never a shortage of ideas to explore!
What was your inspiration for your two Franklin & Ben collections (Mason and Copley)?
The Mason was inspired by the imagery of antique library walls, housed on a cobblestone street, where the paneling has the perfect amount of patina after years of use. The vintage look of the French grey finish gives it just the right amount of age and when paired with modern accessories, can create excitement in any nursery.
The Copley inspiration comes from the quintessential New England space—think Americana mixed with aged leather wingback chairs. Transforming this image into a nursery setting is the ideal design element to recreate; it exudes warmth and luxury.
Mason Crib and Dresser, Stuffed Bunny Photo, Andrew Martin Library Wallpaper, Munkii Bookcase, Wooster Top Hat Aluminum Ceiling Light Pendant Lights, Smoke Chair, Bennett Desk Lamps, La Serratura Pillow, Eclessi Di Luna Pillow, Casey Side Table
What is it about Franklin & Ben that you feel appeals to the customer?
It’s the perfect mix between old and new. As a new parent, finding pieces to complement your own home for a nursery can be daunting. With Franklin & Ben, you can easily see yourself spending time in the nursery because the collections are so stylish, versatile and very of-the-moment, whatever your design influences may be.
How would you describe the collections you designed?
The Mason and the Copley are the perfect combination of a bit of history in a modern world. Mixing any of these iconic pieces with a modern glider or vintage art projects gives the idea of a well-loved updated nursery with a sense of memory.
Copley Crib and Dresser, Ventana 2 tier Chandelier, Scribble Orb Pillow, Westwood Pillow, Balloons Print, ARTERIORS Home Forest Park Accent Table, Anejo Gold Glass/Vintage Brass Table Lamp, Vivienne Westwood Wallpaper, Flintstone Rug
Anything else fun and interesting that you’d like to add?
Designing for Franklin & Ben makes me smile! Being able to create collections that can integrate beautifully into any family space with a sense of style is exactly what Jennifer DeLonge is all about, and continuing this idea into the nursery with pieces that are beautiful and incredibly priced is so very exciting. The hard part is deciding which one to pick!

I adore both of these cribs so much. I have had the Mason bookmarked since it made it’s debut. There is nothing like them on the market (vintage meets modern) and they are convertible and affordable which makes them even more special. I cannot wait for the chance to purchase one and make a beautiful nursery with it being the standout piece in the room. LOVE!

Those cribs are just gorgeous! But I like the Mason more because of its vintage look and antique-y color.
