Party Reveal: Match Your Shower to Your Nursery

One of my favorite things to do is plan a shower around a nursery. The mommy-to-be provides me with pictures of what she is doing in the nursery, and then I create an aesthetic for the shower that matches. My client was having a girl and was planning a soft pink room with black and white accents.

She chose the bedding (pictured above) in a damask pattern that I carried throughout her shower.

I made an oversized paper flower backdrop for the dessert table with hand-painted watercolor flowers and a layered ruffle table skirt.

All the paper decorations I designed had a soft pink stripe and black and white damask pattern.

Even the sweets mimicked the pattern in the decor.

When using a pattern in a party, try to keep it simple so it’s not overwhelming. Add in the paper decor and sweets, and keep everything else neutral—simple and sweet with a bit of modern flare!
