Go for the gold! That’s what I keep telling myself as I wrestle with my latest nursery design for my little girl arriving in no time. I can’t help but be inspired by the contrasting metals and shimmery metallics that have made a huge splash in the world of interiors. And now, like most hot trends, they’ve made their way into the world of nursery. Fortunately for me, our favorite children’s furniture makers do not disappoint! So the question remains, should I really go for a gold crib?
The Jenny Lind crib is a true classic. Seeing it painted in gold, as a DIY project on A Small Snippet, makes my heart skip a beat.
Bratt Decor has been rocking glamorous gold cribs from the very beginning. It’s no wonder why they often catch the attention of expecting celebrities.
Furniture design powerhouse Nursery Works recently debuted a stunning, modern crib named Lydian featuring real gold, as in 24-karat gold real (expect a price tag to match).
Pottery Barn Kids entered the world of glamour with their brand new Millie Crib comprised of both gold metal AND linen fabric panels. I’m sure some others are thinking, why didn’t we think of that?
Cribs by Suommo take things to a whole new level, like their Bela Luxury Cot—Gold Edition, plated in 18K gold. It’s out of this world as well as out of my budget (to say the least) at $57,120.
Newport Cottages will add gold paint to any style of their bench-made cribs. So if you aren’t feeling solid gold, the Beverly Crib, gently trimmed in metallic gold paint, adds just the right amount of bling.
Tell me, which look is your favorite? I gotta admit, I’m hoping it will help me with my final decision!

which crib did you end up choosing?? I am really debating between the Bratt Decor Joy in regular or Canopy in distressed white. I am looking for something timeless and can be used with a boy or a girl!!!

Hi Kim!
Melisa went with the Joy crib. You can see the results in her daughter’s gorgeous nursery. Good luck with your decision and your nursery!
