Words of Wisdom

A big trend in nursery and home design is wood panels and wall decor with single sayings or famous quotes. And as all good moms know, we are born with an innate ability to give words of wisdom and advice to everyone—kids, friends and family! They don’t listen, you say? Well, lucky you, because now you can make a statement without ever saying a word!

How many times have you said or heard this? I wonder if I could get a recording of it too and just play it on a loop for my kids (and husband, lol).

And if grownups rule in your house, graphic artist John W. Golden has a wonderful collection of “By Order of the Management” signs that will keep your kiddos (and adults) following the rules!

In our retail store, we have this sign hanging in the bathroom. It was originally from the Order of the Management Collection, but we thought “Because Mom Said So” was more appropriate in a baby store.

Looking for other words of wisdom? Here are some of my favorites—perfect for BIG and little spaces.

Been seeing a lot of these wood panels with quotes lately on Pinterest and they are just awesome! Really love that first photo — sayings are great and the kids are very cute :)

I like those little words of wisdom in the first photo. But I’d prefer another color.

I decided not to place signs in my kids’ rooms or nurseries until they learn how to read. I’d definitely get a customized one with those famous Og Mandino words from “All I really need to know I learned from Kindergarten.” It would be nice if my kids would read the words and get reminded of the things that are important in life.
