Design Reveal: Beach Nursery

We’re frequently asked by our clients to create a nursery with beach-inspired elements—we chalk it up to our sunny Southern California location. We recently designed this beach-themed boy’s nursery for a client in Orange County, CA, filled with unique and highly customized elements.

While the aqua and orange color palette seems to be a reigning favorite among our client base, we refreshed the scheme by adding a beautiful sea-foam green with hints of turquoise to complement the bold coral orange.

Shown in the reflection of the adjoining bathroom mirror is the showpiece of the nursery—a fabulous oversize coral wall mural.

The sculptural coral mirror was forged in a custom finish, while safe and extra-lightweight starfish tapestries were hung over the crib.

Finally, our client wanted to re-purpose an existing dresser to which we added a beautiful, handcrafted sea glass mosaic.

I love the wall color and everything about this nursery. While mine are too young for a nursery, I have been thinking of coral for their bathroom. Much prefer how you introduced coral into the space. Could you please share the wall paint color? Thanks!

Wow, what a fabulous nursery! We are wondering if the coral mural is painted on or if it is a decal? We would like to recreate it exactly. We’d appreciate your tips, as we are preparing our nursery as we speak! Thank you!

  13. avatar Jenn says:

So I was curious to see where the crib bedding was from and I was able to find it… It’s from Petunia Pickle Bottom and it’s called Imperial Fish… it’s pricey, but probably worth it if you’re trying to go for a specific look :) Hope it helps

  14. avatar Lisa says:

Did you buy the tapestry for the starfish or have them made?

  15. avatar Ashley says:

I contacted the designers of this nursery. Any information needed can be requested for $35 per item. The decals were customed made and over $500. However, I am currently working with someone on etsy who can recreate the decals (just send a pic and the dimensions you would like to Marta at decal murals) The rug is called a Chandra rug and is sold on many web-sites. I ordered from House & Hold web-site. This rug is super popular and on back order for many web sites. Paint color, I would recommend going to Sherwin Williams. Fabric for changing pad, look on etsy. Hope this helps :)

Love this nursery. My son and daughter-in-law met in the Caribbean while attending school and would love to do their nursery with a beach theme. They just love this room and would like me to help them with the bedding. Where can I find the material you used for the crib and also the changing table? What is the name and make of the paint? Where can I purchase the rug? Any information you can send me will be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

  32. We love your color selection. The color of a room can really change the overall mood completely. This room feels completely bright and inviting.

  33. avatar Sara says:

I like the room. Not a big themey person but not sure if it speaks nursery to me. Great design though.

That mirror is awesome but being a Southern Californian myself I worry about it falling, and falling while my baby is on the changer. Safety Hazard!
