Description
I wanted our nursery to have three elements: color, texture, & pattern. A room that felt SPECIAL! Something to reflect our personal taste, but still suitable for a baby. After deciding on paint and wallpaper, we rolled up our sleeves and got to work!
We love the lavender hues and how they compliment the espresso furniture. The extra "pops" of rich color & artwork keep it age-appropriate for our girl.
Fun, eclectic, modern, vintage - all rolled into one!
Design Inspiration
I was looking for the right wallpaper to "speak" to me. After deciding on this purple damask by York, everything else came together piece by piece. It was important to create a space that was appropriate for our little girl but also complimented the rest of our home. We love color and anything unique!
Decorating Style
Color, pattern, eclectic. I'm also CRAZY for accessories!
I usually start with one or two pieces I really love and build from there. In this case, I started with a wallpaper and built the room around it.
Project Details
- The Amy Butler rug was purchased from Layla Grayce.
- The 9 illustrations on the wall were bought from this talented young lady. She sells them individually OR you can buy the calendar (which is what I did).
- The green elephant lamp & curtains are from World Market.
- The three bird prints above the crib, mosaic mirror, and pillows are from Pier One.
- The side table lamp and floating shelves are from Lowe’s.
- The crib skirt was handmade by my mom.
- The swivel glider and ottoman are made by Best Chairs.
- The “Coco Bear” furniture set is from Buy Buy Baby.
- The wallpaper is York “Nouveau Damask” - found here.
- The paint color is called “Beguiling Mauve” from Sherwin Williams.

Advice
Look for pattern, pattern, pattern and accessorize! If you want a rich look like this, stick with darker furniture and use plenty of lamps for warm lighting. Do not be afraid to mix many different colors together (just keep one or two the main focus). Shop EVERYWHERE. Use old & new. Trust your instincts. Be patient and don't settle for anything less than "you!"
Your nursery is beautiful! I am working on mine with only 5 weeks left to go! I bought a craigslist chair-great find, but I am loosing energy to reupholster it and to get it professionally done would cost me the same as buying new. I love the chair you have. Where and how did you purchase it from this company? Thanks so much for your help!
Thank you!! The chair was ordered through Buy Buy Baby. If you have one locally, you can visit the store or order over the phone!! :)
the prints above the crib are lovely! http://www.bluebirdkisses.com
Very interesting blend of textures and colors, and it works! I gave it 5 stars. The sophisticated room design allows the prints to really standout. Visually eye pleasing without being too bright and candy-coated. I can appreciate the look. my nursery progress:

I agree with busywith3boys! I absolutely love this, I have not commented on a room yet either! I’m in the middle of adjusting my little girls room to something fabulous as she at first had a gender neutral nursery since we didn’t know she was a girl. Your room is now my inspiration! It’s absolutely beautiful. Thank you!
Beautiful room! The colors, the textures and the patterns make up for a very unique and very interesting space. It is so rich in personality. I love all the prints you used and all the details — like the artworks on the wall and the decorative items on the shelves — you put into the nursery.
I love your nursery. The blend of colors is perfect.
I love this nursery!!! Thank you so much for sharing…Blessings
There are so many great elements in this room – LOVE it!
Amazing work! I love the purple, it is so vibrant. That with those cool bird paintings, it was genius. :)
How big a rug did you get? I just saw the price and I want to die lol.
Is it possible to get a close up photo of each of the bird prints?
I love that model of furniture but cannot find the model number on bye bye baby for the dresser and the cribe?
