Well Traveled Playroom

Description

Colorful, Playful, Functional Playroom

Design Inspiration

My inspiration for Charlotte's Playroom was the Flamenco Dancer and Bull Fighter posters I found in Seville, Spain.

Decorating Style

I love to travel (I'm a Flight Attendant) so my design inspiration comes from souvenirs and places I visit.  I think this is a really fun, eclectic room.

Project Details

Ikea...  Great place for affordable playrooms.  I bought the rugs, table, chairs, light fixture and bookcase from Ikea.

The green moose is from Z Gallerie (I painted it green).  The curtains were custom made.

Visit www.postcardsandcoasters.blogspot.com to see more pictures and learn more about the playroom.

Favorite Items

I love the Spanish posters.  I also really like the way the curtains turned out.

Advice

Don't be afraid of color.  One of my favorite parts of the room is the green ceiling!

I think rooms with a travel or an around-the-world theme are perfect for encouraging your children to cultivate a sense of wonder and adventure. They will learn about different places and about different cultures, and they’d be open-minded individuals when they grow up.

Your room has a Mexican feel to it. Maybe because of those curtains and that lamp which looks like a cute pinata on the ceiling. I really like those clocks for various timezones. They do make such nice accessories.
