Description
A navy blue & white, elephant themed nursery for our baby bee to be!
Design Inspiration
Our navy blue, hot pink and white wedding (hot pink to be added if baby is a girl) and F's childhood elephant collection.
Decorating Style
Neutral, modern classics
Project Details
Baby's cradle was F's as a baby and the glider is a hand-me-down from S's family. We had new cushions made for the gilder, but F sewed everything else in the nursery, including all the bedding, curtains, basket liners, etc. The paper lanterns hanging above the cradle are reminiscent of the hundreds of lanterns hanging in the tent and throughout the apple orchard at our wedding. Above the changing table (a dresser from Ikea) is a custom elephant mobile from Etsy. S, a pilot, added several elephant souvenirs from his travels around the world including an elephant pillow cover and alphabet tapestry from Bahrain and a momma and baby elephant pair from Italy. A sweater knit by F hangs on the closet door next to the shelves displaying several special elephants collected and made over the years. On the lower shelves are baskets labeled with elephant luggage tags. We're so excited to rock our baby on the glider, lay our baby in the cradle and welcome home our nursery's new resident! A source list for everything in our baby's nursery can be found in this blog post: http://www.ourlittlebeehive.com/2011/12/whered-you-get-that-nursery-edition.html

Advice
Start early and go slowly. Try to do as much as you can yourself - this nursery is a true labor of love!
Ok seriously, this one blew me away! I love the cute elegance (is there even such a phrase?) of this room. This color scheme is something I would use if I were to renovate my own room!
Details on items and where you go them???
I love the room! Where did you get that rug?
Would love the details on the bedding, great room!
I love the way you used the blue and white paper lanterns.
Very beautiful room! The shade of blue you used is really lovely. I also think your elephant mobile and those blue and white paper lanterns are cute.
Our nursery items source post is up on our blog now!
