In honor of Earth Day, we thought we would end this week of our eco-friendly focus with a Pow! Whop! Kabaam!
The imagination is a beautiful thing. To see your child grow and play pretend is heartwarming. And when they insist on wearing last Halloween’s Disney princess or pirate costume to school, it can be challenging. Mom, Jossamber Shapiro became tired of tacking dish towels to the back of her son’s shirts while he and his friends went through the “Superhero phase”. She and dear friend Jessica Wise then realized the need to create Little Capers. Little Capers are 100% cotton with detachable capes. They retail for $35 (with many on sale now too!) and I keep thinking how much joy my son will get from running around the house in one of these. And just for the sake of name dropping, celebrities such as Brooke Shields, Patrick Dempsey, Teri Polo and Joely Richardson are fans of Little Capers too!

Size 6 Blue Earth Hero short sleeves for my youngest son, Luke. This is the right costume for him, because this is what he is. An Earth Superhero. Luke never litters. He understands recycling and helps Mommy put the glass items in their bin and the plastic in it’s bin and so on. We recycle everything and try to reuse where we can. I only buy earth friendly products for our home. We use reusable shopping bags and have our own water bottles and use filtered water from home to not purchase plastic bottled water on the go. Earth is our home. It’s my childrens’ home and my future grandchildrens’ home. I want to do all I can and teach them to take care of it.

To go green, we have eliminated paper towels and napkins, and disposable wraps/covers/lunchbox containers. We use CFLs and have everything on power strips, which we shut off when not in use. We recycle, Freecycle, and compost.
