In the Nursery with Jen Schroeder

Wow! Our whole team’s jaws dropped when we saw the reveal of this chic girls nursery designed by Willa Ford for Jen Schroeder‘s baby girl. This space is unique yet still hits some major 2020 nursery trends. Keep your eyes peeled for some products from The Project Nursery Shop within this special space, too! We spoke with designer Willa Ford about the process of designing this chic girls nursery, but let’s hear what Jen had to say first.

“Rudi’s room is an absolute dream. This space wasn’t built for a princess, it was built for a queen. It’s a place she can grow into that will foster all of her dreams. Willa from WFord Interiors is a complete mastermind at listening to what your design desires are and then making them more creative, unique and beautiful than you ever imagined possible. And, thanks to Project Nursery, all of those dreams became a reality. Rudi Babe is one lucky little girl.” – Jen Schroeder

Now let’s get the behind-the-scenes scoop from Willa Ford, of WFord Interiors!

Where did you pull inspiration for the nursery design?
Honestly, I wanted something that, besides the crib in the room, could also work as a teenager’s room. I wanted to do it right so that Jen didn’t have to change a thing except a bed instead of crib for the next fifteen years.

What part of the design process did you enjoy the most?
Working with Jen. She’s a dream client. She understands design is my art. She gave me a few inspo photos, and I showed her that or a completely new design, and she chose the new look!

What is your favorite part or detail in the nursery?
I love the curved light pink sofa against the burnt orange drapes—unexpected yet still feminine.

What is one thing or tip that you would tell other parents to consider when starting their own nursery design project?
Consider if you want longevity or to completely redesign in a few years. You can spend more upfront if you know it’s going to last you for ten years versus three years. It’s very exciting to do baby girl/boy everything, but remember that for the first three years, the look of the nursery is more about how mom and dad enjoy it rather than the baby. Think ahead when choosing designs.

I’m very disappointed in this company. I was charged $297 on April 4th for a crib. I have left messages on the phone and emails inquiring about shipment. Last I heard was last Thursday the 18th. The email said they would get me an answer ASAP. Nothing! Please help me resolve this issue.
