Recently I had the pleasure of attending the International Contemporary Furniture Fair at the Javitz Center in NYC, where I discovered some of what’s best and what’s next in the very exciting world of interior design. The 14 Nursery Trends for 2019 as forecasted by Project Nursery proved to be spot on, and here are some of my top picks from the ICFF, representing the best of what’s trending now and next!
First up is the boutique wallpaper brand Abnormals Anonymous. They are particularly great for children’s rooms and playrooms because their papers use eco-friendly, VOC-free inks and can print on a variety of different materials. What could possibly be more happy-making than pink giraffes!? They also have great prints featuring everything from bugs to blowfish.

eye heart hand, an inspiring rug brand, uses quality and ethically sourced wool from New Zealand and skilled artisans in India. A one-of-a-kind piece for your one-of-a-kind kid? Yes, please! Not to mention that this rug is completely on trend with botanicals and boho farmhouse textures and colors.
Continuing with the enchanted forest trend, not to mention moody color palettes, is Nottene—a wallpaper brand with part-storybook magic, part-sophisticated line drawings and rustic charm.

And perhaps the most fun of all is Deco Paws! I couldn’t help but include this art history-inspired/pet-themed wall covering brand allows you to customize your design with the likeness of your very own favorite furry friend! Feature your very own kitty in a rococo style! Animal portraits just took on a whole new meaning.
