We are all about supporting other mamas at Project Nursery, and we love that Sophia Johnson works hard to bring mothers together and allow them to share their experiences without judgment over on Cultivate Motherhood. This momming business can be as tough as it is wonderful, so every bit of support helps! It doesn’t hurt that Sophia keeps her life filled with a whole lot of pretty, so her site is filled with lovely inspiration as well. We toured her baby daughter’s nursery earlier this spring, and now we are back to check out big sister Beatrice’s vintage-filled big girl room. Thank you, Sophia, for once again letting us into your home. We’ll let you take it from here!
Hello there, my name is Sophia. Wife, mother, creative type, writer, and lover all vintage! My heart is empowering women and mothers to live their best life and begin to see their worth and value.
Beatrice’s room was inspired by her! She is all girl and believes in fairytales, princesses, true love and anything sparkly. So for me, I thought about what a princess bedroom would be like through my daughter’s eyes. I knew I wanted something very feminine and whimsical!
The part I enjoyed most about decorating Beatrice’s big girl room was putting up the wall flowers with my husband. We were so excited to see the finished look, as well as Beatrice’s reaction!
My favorite part of Beatrice’s bedroom is the antique vanity my mom and dad found for her when antiquing one day! To me, it’s a timeless piece that adds so much beauty and charm to the space.
I would tell other parents when starting your design to be creative and think outside the box. Pull inspiration from pinterest and magazines, but at the end of the day, make it true to your own style and aesthetic.
