What do you get when you combine a bright and colorful balloon wreath with classic party-staple, the balloon animal? FUN! And lots of it. We’re sharing all the details of our balloon animal party with you.
Want in on the fun? For the structural base of the balloon wreath, we created a DIY hoop out of PVC tubing from the hardware store to use as our base.
To build out your balloon wreath on top of the hoop, start by creating balloon duplets or double clusters. Take two similarly sized balloons filled with air (not helium) cross their necks twice, and tie them off. Then, hold the middle of the duplet, where the ballon necks are tied together, against the hoop and secure with fishing line. Continue to add balloon duplets, using the same fishing line, until your hoop is covered. Lastly, using rubber cement, glue on additional balloons and balloon animals, we call ours “poppy dogs,” to add volume to the wreath.
Now that you’ve got your balloon wreath built, it’s time to set the table! (Ours was provided by Teak & Lace, along with the coolest Eames-style chairs.)
When Bonjour Fete got these new balloon animal plates in, we knew we had to create a party worthy of their cuteness! So, we paired them with primary-colored Happy Birthday plates, and patterned napkins, as well as a striped table runner (from the $3 section at Target—our favorite) and cups.
The pop of gold foil on the cake plates adds some extra bow-WOW, don’t you think?
Per usual, Star Garcia baked up some greatness with the most whimsical balloon animal cookies to match both the plates and the cake topper.
Speaking of the topper, this white and gold balloon animal figurine was perfect for the sprinkle cake, covered of course with our go-to sprinkles—Fancy Sprinkles in El Matador.
And what could be better than a neon yellow cake stand?
An Inflatable Unicorn Kit added some extra flair to the table and doubles as a party activity!
The perfect party favor? A balloon dog pin, of course! And the Koons Balloons invitation from Paperless Post was seemingly tailor-made for this fete.
We hope you’ve enjoyed our party tricks, and wish you the best of luck in your future adventures in Airigami!
