Sam Simon’s Finds at the Architectural Digest Home Show

Every year as winter loosens her hold on NYC, one treat I look forward to is heading to Pier 94 on the west side of Manhattan for the Architectural Digest Home Design Show. Walking the vast trade show is like flipping through the pages of the iconic magazine. This show is a bevy of fresh and interesting design products that include everything from artwork, lighting, furniture, wall treatments and design accessories. Check out a couple of my favorites that would translate perfectly in a nursery space.

Black and white is classic but also happens to be super on trend right now. These sharp, black matte star wall stickers by Tayo Studio will add something to wish upon in any space! For under $50, these give a huge design bang for your buck!   Tayo Studio Black Star Wall Decals

This handcrafted giraffe desk and chair set by Paloma’s Nest is as eco-friendly as it is chic. The desk comes equipped with a chalkboard and a handy dowel across the back designed for a roll of drawing paper to be pulled down for those more prolific little Picassos. The writing surface lifts up to reveal hidden storage for art supplies. Slim shelves are tucked into the “neck” of the giraffe for additional storage of pencils and crayons.

Kaiser Sudan’s / Next Step Studio is the creator of 3D wall sculptures that take the form of everything from modern graphic forms like cubes and geometrics to these playful jax. These colorful pieces would add a super fun POP to the nursery, playroom or den.

Kaiser Sudan's / Next Step Studio 3D Wall JacksThe husband and wife team of Calico Wallpaper based in Brooklyn NYC had two fabulous new arrivals this winter—the first being their adorable new baby girl, and the second being their newest wallpaper pattern. Both creations share the lovely namesake of “Willow.”  The visual symphony of calligraphic lines and soft white shapes evoke branches, flowers or glowing stars. It is available in several colorways and made to order.
Calico Wallpaper - WillowAnother pattern that I adore from Calico Wallpaper is WABI. The design is inspired by organic veining of natural stone and marble. The look comes alive with super chic metallic gold. This paper can be scaled up or down for the wall you are covering, hence the pattern changes in scale depending on the size of your wall. (Wish my skinny jeans did that.)Calico Wallpaper - WABIAttending this show is always fun and chock-full of ways to decorate your life and build your world piece by beautiful piece.
