I love when I find a new product that I can honestly say is brilliant and useful, and when we came across the BFFL Mommy Delivery Bag (Best Friends for Life), I knew this was one of those discoveries. This prepacked bag is the ultimate hospital bag, supplying a mommy-to-be with everything she needs for the hospital. This incredible line of bags was founded by Dr. Elizabeth Chabner Thompson, who started the line of hospitals bags after her own experience as a patient.
The bags are designed for various types of hospital stays, with the original cause being Breast Cancer. The Breast BFFLBag® and axilla•pilla® were launched in 2011 to enhance the breast cancer patient experience. Elizabeth and her best friend, Sara Kerr Reges, RN, have since designed bags for other hospital stays including the bag for mommies-to-be.The bag includes a designer duffel bag, collapsible water bottle, washable nursing pads, expandable folder for important papers and cards, Axilla Pilla comfort pillow, wound care pack, amusement pack, perineal ice packs, skin care and toiletries kit and more.
15% of profits from the sale of this bag will be donated to The Harvard School of Public Health Women’s and Health Initiative. It’s a fabulous shower gift and a smart gift to buy for yourself. It gives you one less thing to worry about—what to bring to the hospital!

Don’t they give you 1/2 of that stuff in the hospital? Wound care and ice packs for sure.

I would have loved this bag if only I weren’t one of those crazy ladies who actually love packing. Something about preparing my own stuff is therapeutic.

Honestly, if you have time to buy this bag or to order this online and wait for it to be delivered to you, then you have time to shop for whatever you need and pack your stuff yourself.

Same here, Alison. I enjoy buying stuff I need and I enjoy categorizing them and putting them into separate pouches, purses and little bags for easy retrieval later. It’s a great stress-reliever, yeah.

Not to mention that a lot of moms-to-be are OC. When you’ve launched into nesting mode, something in you just suddenly turns anal. And when you’re like that, you just have to prepare everything yourself, becuse unless you’re doing your own packing, you can never really be too sure everything is perfect.

You got that. Packing our own bags and making checklists and getting everything we need and ticking off every item in our must-have and must-do list make us feel in control of things. And when we’re about to give birth and embark on a journey to uncertainty, nothing helps with our anxiety better than that feeling of being in control over something. In this case, preparing our own hospital bag!

unless you’re like me and on bed rest and super sick… and dear hubby is overworked and overwhelmed… just saying… it helps for some people.
