Oeuf’s mission statement can be summed up in two words,”be good.” It stems from all the goodness of family and home—exactly what you would want to see in a furniture line made for your baby or child. Oeuf is a true family business, created by a marriage and partnership between Sophie Demenge and Michael Ryan. I recently enjoyed a behind-the-scenes peek into the home of this little french egg. And look how fun they are…
Yes, that is a trapeze swing in a Brooklyn brownstone living room, and we’re not kidding (pin that people!). I have to admit, walking into the Oeuf household, I wondered, is it? Is that? Really?! I quickly learned that Sophie had a passion for the trapeze before becoming a booming furniture business owner. I can only imagine how every playdate guest at the Demenge-Ryan household must come home to their parents asking why they don’t have a swing of their own in the living room.
The entire home (in the midst of an extensive renovation) has this incredible sense of discovery. Loads of wooden trinkets and collectibles adorned the two children’s rooms.
Each room showcases a favorite Oeuf staple like the ever popular Mini Library below. In my mind, it’s one of those pieces companies constantly try to replicate, but there’s nothing like the original.
Their daughter’s room boasts organic bedding, a modified Ikea canopy bed frame and loads of doll house pieces and trinkets creating an entire scene crafted over time.
The love of curating and collecting is definitely in the genes. I must disclose that the photos I am sharing with you in this post are by photographer, Stephanie Deleau and were commissioned for French Elle. My favorite is the this one, I’ll call, “Like mother, like daughter.”
As Sophie and Michael travel and create, they pick up beautiful items along the way. And only those that are genuinely loved make it into the Oeuf shop. Even the children’s bathroom showcases some of Oeuf’s tried-and-true fabulous finds.
To learn that this all started with a simple bouncer created for their daughter is inspiring. Oeuf has blossomed into a modern, eco-friendly furniture leader for children. Most recently, Sophie’s passion for handmade Bolivian clothing and accessories has created a line so indicative of the Oeuf lifestyle. So what’s next for the brand? Soft, beautiful, organic pima cotton layettes.
Today, Project Nursery is thrilled to offer a chance to bring that Oeuf goodness into your home. Enter our Oeuf Sparrow Crib giveaway by Friday, June 15th.
Thank you to Sophie and family for sharing your home and lifestyle with us.

I wish there’s a close-up of the dollhouse pieces and trinkets! Would really love to see those up close.

They have a really lovely home full of things and baubles they love. I have to say though that the rusty Coca Cola signage is a winner!

It’s very refreshing to see successful business people have an approachable and very “normal” home! It’s real and has toys like the rest of us. It makes me feel better that my daughter’s stuffed animal bin is stacked two feet above it’s top!
