In the Nursery with McKenna Bleu

Today we are touring the girly and sophisticated coastal nursery designed by new mama McKenna Bleu. You can find McKenna on her own site and instagram sharing her life as a new mom to baby Della, as well as the renovations to her gorgeous 1950s forever home. Be sure to check in for lots of dreamy interior design inspiration! Thank you, McKenna, for sharing your daughter’s nursery with us!

Where did you pull inspiration for your nursery design?
I wanted her room to be an extension of our home—a modern coastal feel with lots of prints and texture. I spent many late nights (thanks to pregnancy insomnia) on Pinterest finding inspiration. I knew I wanted to use wallpaper in her room so that’s where I started and built the design from there.

What part of the design process did you enjoy the most?
Building her custom closet with Tailored Living. It was so fun to make her closet look and feel like her own personal boutique! She is certainly a lucky girl.

What is your favorite part or detail in your nursery?
Hands down our pink gingham rocker/glider. It’s as comfortable as it is beautiful and is the focal point in our space.

What is one thing that you would tell other parents to consider when starting their own nursery design project?
Have fun with it! Create a space that makes you feel happy. Decide on a color scheme and find items that speak to you. There is no wrong way to create our own special place, just think of all the special memories you will make within the walls of this space.
