A few months ago, Project Nursery brought me on to be their in-house designer for nursery and kid’s e-design projects. I’ve been creating E-Designs for years for my clients and to be able to offer this service to Project Nursery customers is a great honor!
One of my recent projects was for a client in New York City who was having twins. She requested a design for her nursery that was neutral and soothing, with modern touches that would flow with her NYC apartment. She also wanted to have space for a twin bed.
Fitting two cribs in a nursery is a challenge on its own, and adding a twin bed makes things just that much more difficult. But with a little finesse, I was able to fit things in. We chose mini cribs instead of full size cribs that are also portable, so they can be moved around as needed. The twin bed will eventually be removed, cribs moved to that wall and a glider added. The changing table is conveniently placed near the bathroom, with storage shelves above.
Then comes the fun part—the design! I chose cool neutral colors, as she wanted to have the walls a pale mint green. The furniture is modern but still transitional, and the space is accented with some subtle animal pieces. For a little rustic touch, I added some pieces with a wood texture to balance the modernity.
