I have become a little balloon crazy lately, but who can blame me? Balloons are such a fun, inexpensive and creative way to make amazing celebrations. So in the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day this year, I broke out my stash of balloons to create a fun rainbow, complete with a pot of gold at the end!
Materials: Balloon hand pump, glue dots, scissors, twist balloons in rainbow colors, gold and black, black 8-12″ balloon for the pot, assorted white and clear balloons for clouds
Blow up your black round and twist balloon. Curve the twist balloon around the top of the round balloon to create the edge of your “Pot of Gold” and adhere with glue dots.
Place glue dots on the bottom of your round balloon to attach to your table.
Next make 4 to 5 knots in your gold twist balloons creating small sections that will become the gold in your pot of gold.
Blow up each section, tying them off to create the gold pieces.
Blow up your rainbow and white balloons. Use glue dots to secure your rainbow balloons in an arch starting above your pot. Use glue dots to secure the small gold balloons to the top of the black balloon to complete your pot of gold.
At the opposite end of your rainbow arrange and glue dot your white balloons to form the clouds.
Now you have the perfect backdrop for a St. Patrick’s Day party or just a fun decoration for your kids to enjoy. My kids got such joy out of this simple decoration; I hope your kids will too!
Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
