I can’t believe another year has passed already! It seems just a month ago we were throwing our little Charlie his “Wild One” birthday party, and here he is two already! Trying to come up with a party theme for a little guy who really isn’t into anything yet can be a challenge—so we went with a play on words again.
This time it’s a “Two Cool” party theme. Of course, being a child of the 80s, cool to me means neon and stunner shades!
I created a sprinkle balloon backdrop for a fun way to frame our dessert table (get the tutorial here). Our matching backdrop banner featured photos of the birthday boy declaring him “two cool.” Neon tissue paper was used to create a playful tassel garland to complete our dessert table.
We decked our sweets table with cupcakes, candies and even some white fudge Ding Dongs!
We carried the color scheme, photos and stunner shades throughout the party to tie everything together.
I love creating parties that people can recreate even if they aren’t a party stylist with a big budget. Adding sprinkles to store bought desserts was an inexpensive way to have treats that look custom without the high price!
Another budget saver was our homemade simple fondant cake topped with store bought meringues, coordinating sprinkles and cute birthday candles.
Cupcakes were topped off with our Printable party designs.
Neon plates, cupcake liners, napkins and forks by Meri Meri add the perfect touch to our kids table.
Neon gift bags filled with stunner shades, punch balloons and candies were a big hit. Our favor tags with photo of the birthday boy thanked our little guests for being cool!
Our little birthday guy and friends had a blast, and this “Two Cool” kid’s future looks so bright, he’s got to wear to shades.

Whoa! It’s pretty crazy to see the same sprinkle ballon backdrop from Oh Happy Day with NO attribution!

Hi there! I just came across this birthday idea and am IN LOVE with it for my little guy!! His 2nd birthday is in July but already in full planning mode, haha! I wanted to see if I could rack your brain for some of the ideas you had and any other things you did for this adorable party. If you wouldn’t mind emailing me that would be awesome and I would really appreciate it!! Thanks so much!
