We’re ready for the grand reveal of our pump room makeover for the workplace! Together with Scary Mommy and Tommee Tippee we set out in search of the “scariest” pump room in America with a plan to transform it to a safe sanctuary for working pumping mamas. Whether you pump at home or in an office, you can take some notes on functionality and serenity from this pumping space.
A pumping space in the workplace will most likely be used for many many consecutive years by different women, so we chose seating, lighting and tables in stylish designs that will stand the test of time both in design and quality. Plus, changing out accessories and accent colors can be super fun—and Tommee Tippee made sure to give this space an energizing punch with their purple and teal color scheme.

As a “fun” reminder, here is the space we started with. We had our work cut out for us, removing the clutter and chaos and replacing it with calming elements necessary for a successful pumping session in the workplace.
Busy working moms often need to multitask while pumping, so we created a desk area with plenty of work space and beautiful lighting. We added a slim and stylish garden stool to act as additional surface area for mom’s pump and pump parts. (P.S. This is a great idea for your at-home pumping station too!) You can’t have a cozy space without a super soft throw—we love this boho blanket that incorporates the room’s teal accents. The gorgeous woven wall hanging and feather mobile (not just for the crib ladies!) brings major chill vibes to the space too!

For a more luxurious pumping session, we created a soft pumping nook complete with a “smart” glider—that’s right, you can charge your phone right from the armrest! Moms have the most success pumping at work when they are able to fully relax and clear their minds. By incorporating pieces like this glider that remind them of their own home nursery, relaxing comes that much easier! Add another beautiful lamp for soft lighting and a great table for storage, and mama, you’re in business!

We know that a pump room is all about finding that mix between function and comfort. This pumping room with two separate pumping spots combines the best of both worlds and is absolutely decked out with anything mom would ever need to get the job done while at work. Cute bins and baskets contain snacks, water bottles, cleaning supplies and plenty of space for a pumping mom’s many (many, many, many…) things. One of our favorite accents to include in your pumping space? A decorative memo board for posting family photos and encouraging messages.
