One recent change in the recommendations for infant sleep safety from the AAP (American Academy of Pediatrics) that may have caught your eye is that room sharing (note that this is not bed sharing) is now recommended for at least six months and ideally the first year. The AAP claims that with this safe sleep practice, the chance of SIDS can be reduced by as much as 50%.
One of the challenges this presents for parents is that many bassinets on the market will only hold baby for three to four months or until her or she starts to roll over. However, there are great alternatives that are in between a standard bassinet and a full sized crib that will keep baby safe for at least six months without taking over your bedroom.
The babyhome Air will work for your baby until he or she is six months old and boasts a small footprint, easy-to-access pockets and a mesh window to provide ventilation and easy viewing. The Air also works in three positions: stationary, with wheels for easy movement and rocker.
