5 New Baby Tech Gadgets for Parents from ABC Kids Expo 2016

We all love our personal devices, and baby gear companies have quickly figured that out—we’re now seeing more and more tech in baby gear! Last week at the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas, we spotted five new baby tech gadgets that will have tech-obsessed parents asking for more.

This smart monitor accessory uses a sensor that allows parents to easily and quickly track baby’s movement, breathing, nursery temperature, bed wetness and noise level. The monitor has two things that no other monitor has ever had—a unique baby wakening system (think a little nudge) when baby isn’t moving and a moisture detection that alerts parents when baby is wet! All of this is, of course, transmitted to parents through an app on their phones.
Availability: Spring 2017. Price: TBD.

Moxi Stroller by 4moms
We’ve seen a lot of technology from 4moms with the Origami stroller and their self-installing infant car seat, so we were really excited to get a chance to push their new Moxi stroller. This stroller boasts “Power on Board,” which gives parents the ability to track temperature, time, distance traveled, speed and battery level from the easy-to-read LCD screen. It also has a lot of great standard features, like an easy fold and height adjustable handlebar, but oh yeah, it can also charge your cell phone! The Moxi even has headlights and taillights for all you night owls!
Availability: End of October 2016. Price: $699.99.

Starling by VersaMe
We’ve heard many times that the number of words a child hears makes a big difference in their development, but there wasn’t a way to track that until now. The Starling is a small device that baby wears (yes, it is drool-proof!), and it tracks words spoken in his/her vicinity. It then lets parents know if they reach the goal of having their baby hear 20,000 words per day. Starling has a four day battery life and an app that tracks your progress.
Availability: Now. Price: $199.

Love love love the Starling! Talking to a baby so important to their development, and pennies compared to the cost of daycare, private school or college!
