Trend Alert: Vintage Nursery Design

What? Could it be? I think I spy another up-and-coming trend in baby decor! Vintage nursery design has been sprinkling the gallery for a while now, but lately it seems to be in full bloom! And this isn’t your typical design with a few vintage furniture pieces and an all-white color palette—I’m talking gorgeous lace crib skirts, Parisian decor, sweet pastels and every shade of ivory you can dream of!

And all those amazing gold accents you’ve been eyeing? Don’t you worry your sweet preggo heart, because it all coordinates perfectly with the vintage style of the room. I’m currently obsessing over thin gold frames and gold foil prints in gallery walls, and I LOVE how the designer of this gorgeous peach nursery accented the crib with a collage of art on either side of the window. The tone-on-tone carpet squares and white iron crib come together seamlessly in this sweet and stylish vintage nursery.

I always love a little color in the nursery, and I adore all the sweet pastels that have inspired so many recent room designs. Coral and mint seem to be the most popular picks, and they are oh-so-lovely when paired with a gorgeous ivory lace crib skirt.

Here’s a design tip when it comes to adding color to your vintage nursery design. Let the color do all the talking! White or ivory walls set the vintage tone so that you can bring in pops of color in the furniture and other key pieces of decor. Make sure it’s just enough so that it all works together to create your dream nursery design.
