I still remember the first time I placed one of those 5′ tall giraffes in a nursery—you know the one! Those larger-than-life stuffed animals have such a fun quality to them, and since they are so prominent, they can actually be used as part of the design concept for the space. I think a lot of parents have a bit of a phobia about their children amassing hundreds of stuffed animals, but by allowing them to have a huge one (which they will undoubtedly love!), you might be able to get away with a smaller collection.
Of course, you’re not limited to just the giraffe! There are some great options out there for other oversized stuffed animals, and I’ve rounded up some of my favorites that are not only fun but can also work as a design element in the nursery.
This elephant is so chic and sophisticated! Its shape is modern, but it also retains a softness, making it appropriate for a traditional style nursery as well. The cool gray color will match practically any nursery decor.

I absolutely fell in love with this big whale! There’s something about those eyes that’s just adorable. Because of its shape, this one would be great sitting on top of a bookshelf or dresser.

Want something a little more dramatic? How about this hot pink horse? I think any baby girl would love to have this sitting in the corner of her room waiting for her to play.

This fun white tiger is part of the same collection as that quintessential giraffe. He’s huge and huggable, and he’d make a welcome guest in a safari themed nursery.
