From the very first car ride with baby, we are entrusted with ensuring our little one’s safety while traveling. Choosing a car seat is one of the most important decisions we make as new parents. We recently joined our friends at Britax to have a firsthand look at their newest products, the Britax B-Safe 35 and B-Safe 35 Elite rear-facing infant car seats.
A lovely press preview breakfast at Sarabeth’s in NYC
The B-Safe 35 and B-Safe 35 Elite have sleek, modern looks packed with exceptional safety features exceeding government standards. We had a chance to learn about the seats’ SafeCell Impact Protection, which provides new safety technologies to protect the child in the event of a crash. Both seats boast steel frames and an energy absorbing base to reduce potential injury. The energy absorbing foam lining provides side impact protection. An additional safety feature of Complete Side Impact Protection PLUS is offered in the B-Safe 35 Elite.
Britax understands that ease of use is a crucial safety component, and their new seats provide easier than ever installation and comfortable transport. The SafeCenter LATCH Installation has pull-down straps that are simple to adjust and tuck away, and the LATCH Connectors make installation a breeze with a simple button release. We are excited about the Spring-Assisted Recline, allowing three-position seat adjustment from the base. Simply check the Dual Level Indicators to see if the angle is correct.
In addition to all of the reassuring safety features, the B-Safe 35 and B-Safe 35 Elite are modern and comfortable to touch. They also felt lightweight enough to successfully transport sleeping baby from stroller to car without disturbing their precious slumber. We loved having a look at the travel system as a whole. The seats, paired with either the Britax Affinity, B-Ready or B-Angle, make for stylish comfort in a flexible click-and-go system. In addition to compatibility with Britax strollers, the B-Safe 35 and B-Safe 35 Elite are also compatible with BOB joggers and other strollers when using the seat’s adapter.
As the name implies, the weight capacity on both seats has been extended for use up to 35 pounds. And they come in an assortment of fifteen lovely color options! Purchase the B-Safe 35 ($209.99) and B-Safe 35 Elite ($249.99) beginning in December 2014, and purchase the bright color options in the “Shower Collection” in early 2015.
