Our dear, sweet friend Emma has been such a blessing to her mommy and daddy. She has had medical issues since birth, and the doctors gave her a 10-20% chance to make it to her first birthday from the day she was born. That’s why when Emma turned one, it was a true and heartfelt celebration of a really big milestone for this sweet girl and her family! I am so happy that this year has been a success for them, and throwing a little angel first birthday party with lots of fun details made the occasion all the sweeter.
I just wanted to pinch Emma’s little cheeks all day—she was the cutest little angel!
Emma loved the fluffy tissue pom garland that floated around the dessert table like heavenly clouds. She loved playing with the loose poms on the floor—they were pretty, and they made such a fun noise! You can catch the tutorial on how to make a tissue pom garland here—it’s super easy to make, and it will have a huge visual impact on your party.
All of the desserts we made were inspired by fluffy clouds of whipped cream. Strawberry fools in personal cups, angelic cupcakes and a pretty whipped cream cake were among the yummy treats offered to our guests. Every bit of the party got a little dose of heaven—even our drinks earned their wings for this special event!
We made memorable angel party favors for our guests using this free printable lollipop wrapper and tootsie pops—they’re an easy and inexpensive party gift that is beyond darling.
The cake smash is always my favorite part of any first birthday celebration, and Emma didn’t disappoint us with her cake enthusiasm. We kept the smashing to a single cupcake in this instance, but that didn’t lessen the fun of covering everything in strawberry frosting!

When I first saw the pin for this I thought it was for a baby who didn’t make it. As beautiful as the party was, not to mention the precious baby girl, people who have lost their children call them angel babies. Just a heads up going forward. I am so glad that beautiful girl got her 1st birthday!
