Camo-inspired clothing is all the rage for adults and children, so why not bring it into the bedroom? I don’t usually like to decorate a room in a complete theme, but there is nothing to say I won’t decorate with a theme in mind. This time, it’s a hunting themed room.
This is a bedroom I designed for a preteen boy who loves to go hunting with his father. The room was originally blue, but I papered above the chair rail with burlap to give the walls some dimension. The chair rail and crown molding are painted moss green, and I chose a custom orange color below. These colors and textures complement the multi-stripe rug and the industrial and raw furniture in the space.
Most of the furniture and lighting was purchased from Restoration Hardware with the exception of two pieces. The desk—an original piece in the room—was repainted, and the storage benches were reupholstered. The rug is from ABC Carpet & Home and the pillows and window treatments were custom-made. Since this is an older boy’s room, I wanted to keep pillows and decorative items to a minimum.
This space is the perfect combination of rustic accents and modern touches, with just the right amount of hunting-inspired elements added in. With a balanced color palette and sophisticated artwork and accessories, this inspiration would work for any little boy’s room.

Andrika – this room is beautiful and studly at the same time. Perfect for a pre-teen boy. I have been eyeing the lighting fixture for some time and its nice to see it in this space. And the wallpaper/paint combo is pretty awesome. Nice job!
